CAD renderings, or Computer-Aided Design rendering, is the process of using computer software to generate realistic and lifelike images of objects or environments.
There are many ways it can help, but ultimately depends on what your specific needs are. It could be anything from proof of concepts, planning board presentations, or complete design of your dream backyard.
There are many factors that impact how long it will take to complete a rendering and/or design. Things like the overall scope of the project, unexpected obstacles, zoning issues, and the amount of communication that is needed to meet the objective. A simple project can be done in a few days, or a complex project may take a month or two.
We take a drastically different approach than most other design & rendering companies. By using a collaborative approach and breaking the project up into phases, it keeps the process flowing smoothly and ensures that we're staying on the same page. Using this approach saves time, which allows us to pass that savings on to you by charging less than competitors.
For most projects, we require a 50% deposit upfront and the remaining balance is due upon completion of the project. You'll receive an invoice and that'll allow you to pay electronically. For larger scale projects, we'll review the payment schedule and intervals based on the scope of work.
The deposit is not refundable if any work has commenced, but you would not be charged for the remainder. The project is saved in the event you'd like to continue at another time. The same applies for larger scale projects, milestone payments would not be refundable. We understand that things happen that are out of our control.
The more information you can provide the better the results will be. At minimum, for design and rendering work we'll need a plot plan, clear photos, and possible additional measurements missing. We can get a good idea via overhead aerial imagery and photos, but there is no substitute for surveys or actual measurements.
We ask you for a rough budget to ensure the design created fits within your financial situation. The price varies quite a bit depending on location, materials, and complexity of the design. Our experience in the field gives us a good idea of costs estimates. You will be provided with estimated material quantities on your construction layout sheet.
Landscape Architects have formal schooling and may possess one or more professional licenses. They're typically used large commercial projects, municipalities, and high-end residential properties. This comes with a substantial expense that often requires a retainer. Landscape design is intended as an artistic concept, helping clients visualize what their project may look like.
No, all products offered are intended as artistic visual concepts and offer no architectural or engineering advice. The rendering/design may need modification based on product limitations, codes, drainage, or terrain issues. All work should be performed by a qualified contractor and/or license professional.
